Week One: Day One

What an amazing day.  This morning, Pete and I arose rested and ready to begin our Candidacy class at MAF.  We enjoyed getting ready together and making sure Cade was ready for a day with his sitter, Tori.  We then embarked upon the beginning of a wonderful day of welcomes, information, and getting to know you time with our candidate friends.
We spent time today learning about MAF as an organization and began to learn about the programs and field options that we have as a Pilot/Mechanic couple.  It will be a full two weeks of learning, but we are thrilled for the opportunity to know more about the call God has placed on our hearts and where He can use us!
Tonight, we will celebrate the birthday of one of our new friends, Kevin.  Hotdogs, chips, and cake are on the menu along with fellowship and bonding with one another and our families.  In the dry, warm summer evenings in Idaho, this will be a fun time - without all the sweat we are used to in Texas and Georgia!

In other news:  Cade has a wonderful sitter.  Today he went for a walk, hung out on the grass outside, played on his elephant mat (thank you Linda Fitzhugh) and giggled.  We walked back to the apartment to see him on his tummy outside our apartment with Tori playing in the gorgeous outdoors.  We are so blessed by her time and willingness to love on our sweet boy.

More updates to come.  Thanks for your prayers!
